TUBACEX positions itself in the PREMIUM SEGMENT
TUBACEX evolution in the Premium segment is reflected in its turnover with up to 70% of its invoicing corresponding to high value-added products.
TUBACEX Group has evolved towards high technological value solutions with a firm commitment to R&D, investment plans in all plants to improve processes, delivery deadlines and safety, as well as the development of new products, grades and technologies, resulting in a position in the Premium segment. In 2016, historical milestones were achieved in these types of products and in particular, its role in the tubes for boilers segment with ultra-super-critical technology which has beaten invoicing in the Oil&Gas market for the first time.
This strategy focused on Premium products, the improvement of company sales positioning and entering new markets, have boosted the sales of higher value-added products by TUBACEX. This has led the company to start off the second quarter with a backlog of orders worth €700 million in these types of products – the highest figure in its history, to be supplied during the next three years.
These orders include mainly tubular solutions of high technological value for the gas and oil extraction sectors (umbilical offshore tubes and Oil Country Tubular Goods or OCTG), petrochemical, as well as power generation with supercritical technology (boilers), mainly manufactured in the Basque Country (TTI and ACERALAVA), Austria (SBER) and Italy (IBF).
