TUBACEX to supply the umbilicals tubes
for STATOIL Projects at Johan Sverdrup,
Bauge and Utgard


As a result of TUBACEX R&D and sales activities, the company has recently signed a contract with Aker Solutions to supply umbilical tubes for three Statoil Projects at Johan Sverdrup, Utgard and Bauge, on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

These steel umbilical tubes will be manufactured at state-of-the-art plants in Austria and Spain, integrating the best technologies available. This contract represents a step forward in the TUBACEX Strategy, boosting its Premium Products category with historical order-backlog.

Fully Integrated Model

Johan Sverdrup Oil Field

Johan Sverdrup is one of the five largest oil fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. It extends over an area of approximately 200km2, with expected resources of between 2.0-3.0 billion barrels of oil equivalent, becoming one of the most important industrial projects in Norway over the next 50 years.

Utgard is a gas and condensate field on the Norwegian and UK continental shelf with estimated recoverable volumes of 56 million barrels of oil equivalent. The field development includes two wells in a standard subsea concept, with one drilling target on each side of the median line.

The third field, Bauge, to be tied in to the Njord A platform, has an estimated volume of 73 million barrels of oil equivalent. The Bauge field development concept includes one subsea template, two oil producers and one water inject.
