TUBOS INOXIDABLES S.A.U.

TTI– Tubacex Tubos Inoxidables S.A.U. is a wholly owned subsidiary of TUBACEX S.A.,. which manufactures exclusively seamless stainless steel and nickel alloy tubes and pipes. The size manufactured through the extrusion press and the 10 cold rolling machines, goes from ½” up to 8” NPS, or 19 – 250 mm OD. The production programme covers most of the seamless specialities in stainless steel, such as pipe, heat exchanger and condenser tube, boiler and superheater tube, refinery and high temperature pipe and tube, mechanical tubing and many others.

AID PROGRAM TO SUPPORT BUSINESS R&D – HAZITEK

ADHOCO2

The main objective of the project is to design and develop a new range of high performance austenopherritic steel tubular solutions ad hoc for application in CO2 transport and injection technologies in CCS systems. These solutions will have to operate in different service conditions, with pressures up to 140 bar and temperature ranges from subzero to supercritical CO2 temperatures. This implies that they must be able to withstand variable ranges of stresses due to combined loads in the presence of CO2 in different phases and other pollutants in different proportions such as H2S, NOx, SOx, oxygen, chlorides, etc.

The project is led by TUBACEX TUBOS INOXIDABLES and has the support of three agents of the Basque Network of Science and Technology and Innovation (RVCTI) such as TECNALIA, CEIT and TUBACEX INNOVATION.

The project is funded by the Hazitek Program of the Basque Government, with support from the European Regional Development Fund and has an approved budget of 319,422.25 € in the 2022 annuity.

H2HORNOS

The objective to be achieved with the H2HORNOS project is the progressive decarbonization of industrial furnaces used in the steel and aluminum sectors, in the processes of smelting, forging, rolling, heat treatments, etc. The ultimate goal is to use only “green hydrogen” as fuel in this type of furnaces, as well as the replacement of air by oxygen as comburent, with only water vapor emissions after combustion, and replacing the currently used fuel, natural gas, thus avoiding CO2 emissions.

The project is led by GUINEA HORNOS INDUSTRIALES with the participation of the companies NIPPON GASES, SIDENOR, TUBACEX TUBOS INOXIDABLES, BEFESA ALUMINIO and ALUDIUM. It also has the support of several agents of the Basque Science and Technology and Innovation Network (RVCTI) such as TECNALIA, SIDENOR R&D and TUBACEX INNOVATION.

The project is financed by the Hazitek Program of the Basque Government, with the support of the European Regional Development Fund and has an approved budget of 910,557.69 € in the 2022 annuity.

H2SALT

The main objective of the project is to develop an integral system for hydrogen storage in a salt cavern according to the existing geological conditions, including the tubular products for injection-extraction and the necessary auxiliary installations for the treatment of the gas prior to the entry and later to the exit of the cavern.

The project is led by TEAM INGENIERIA Y CONSULTORIA with the participation of the companies TAMOIN SLU and TUBACEX TUBOS INOXIDABLES. It also has the support of two agents of the Basque Network of Science and Technology and Innovation (RVCTI) such as TECNALIA, and TUBACEX INNOVATION.

The project is financed by the Hazitek Program of the Basque Government, with the support of the European Regional Development Fund and has an approved budget of 236,786.57 € in the year 2022.

ANIMO

The general objective of the ANIMO project is to design and develop round products and tubular products made of nickel base alloys (600/800 series) and super austenitic high molybdenum alloys (UNS S31254), with superior performance, which demonstrate greater resistance in the applications for which they are intended, high temperature and corrosive environments.

The project is led by ACERIA DE ALAVA and has the participation of TUBACEX TUBOS INOXIDABLES. It also has the support of several agents of the Basque Network of Science and Technology and Innovation (RVCTI) such as TECNALIA, AZTERLAN and TUBACEX INNOVATION.

The project is financed by the Hazitek Program of the Basque Government, with the support of the European Regional Development Fund and has an approved budget of 275,251.05 € in the 2022 annuity.

Tubacex Tubos Inoxidables is moving towards new intelligent manufacturing environments through robotics. Its latest action in this area in its extrusion plant located in Llodio, Álava, has been co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Operational Program for Sustainable Development 2014-2020. Specifically with an aid of 30% on the eligible cost for the installation of a robot for automatic mandrel change. This action is part of the company’s digitalization process with the aim of achieving a cleaner and more sustainable economy.
