Bilbao, 18th February 2026. Acería de Álava (Aceralava), Tubacex’s specialized steel mill, has obtained EN 9100:2018 certification, a benchmark quality standard in the aerospace industry. The certified scope covers manufacturing for the aerospace segment of alloy steel, stainless steel and high-nickel alloys in ingots, billets/blooms and bars, in round and square sections, forged and/or rolled, at its Amurrio (Spain) plant.
The certification strengthens Tubacex’s position in high value-added industrial activities and supports its participation in aerospace supply chains with demanding technical and documentation requirements. For the Group, this milestone is aligned with a vertically integrated model that links metallurgical development in the laboratory with steelmaking, seamless tube manufacturing and technical support in final customer applications. Within the aerospace value chain, Aceralava plays a critical upstream role, supplying aerospace-grade alloy steel, stainless steel and high-nickel billets and bars used in forged and machined components for engine, structural and high-performance applications.
Tubacex contributes at multiple stages of the aerospace value chain. Upstream, the Group develops and qualifies advanced materials designed for high mechanical performance, corrosion resistance and process consistency. Midstream, it industrializes those materials through controlled melting, hot processing and precision manufacturing routes. Downstream, it supplies high-precision seamless stainless steel and high-nickel alloy tubing for critical systems in aero-engine platforms and adjacent aerospace applications.
These tubes are used in high-specification service lines, including fuel, oil and hydraulic circuits, pneumatic and instrumentation lines, as well as external and structural engine-related applications where dimensional control, internal cleanliness and repeatable performance are required. In practice, Tubacex serves as a specialized materials-and-tubing partner to OEM and tiered supply chains, supporting both serial production and long-cycle industrial programs.
Operationally, the integrated structure allows alignment across material design, process control, traceability and delivery throughout the full chain. This is especially relevant in aerospace programs, where qualification pathways are rigorous, documentation depth is critical, and long-term supply continuity is a core procurement requirement.
Aceralava’s EN 9100 certification adds to Tubacex’s broader progress in aerospace and other technically demanding sectors, where the company continues to strengthen its positioning through in-house industrial capabilities, engineering support and international manufacturing presence.
From a business perspective, the certification supports the Group’s strategy toward higher-technology segments and long-term supply relationships, backed by production specialization, operational reliability and compliance discipline. The certificate, issued in February 2026, provides a multi-year framework to expand activity in aerospace programs and other high-criticality industrial applications.
