Esther Chamizo, HR lead at Aceralava , took part in UNESID’s “Mujeres de Acero” webinar, El puente hacia el talento, a sector forum focused on talent management as a strategic lever for competitiveness and organisational transformation in the steel industry.

The event, organised by UNESID with the support of PLATEA and Skills4EII, brought together professionals from across the sector to discuss key topics such as workforce organisation, recruitment, training and professional development, equality, and the evolving role of people management in industrial competitiveness.

During the session, UNESID highlighted the sector’s progress in recent years: female employment in steel has more than doubled over the past decade, and women now represent over 12% of total employment. In technical profiles, women account for close to 40%, reflecting the impact of talent attraction and development policies implemented across the industry.

In her contribution, Esther Chamizo emphasised how work organisation is shifting from rigid models to more dynamic systems, where flexibility, anticipation and multi-skilling are increasingly important to ensure operational continuity in a changing environment.

Tubacex views equality and diversity as part of its broader people strategy and long-term sustainability roadmap, aligned with its Ambition 2030 commitments, supporting a more inclusive industrial environment and the development of talent across the organisation.
