At Tubacex, advanced materials are at the core of how we address some of industry’s most complex operating challenges.

Our expertise goes beyond manufacturing established grades. We work with customers and technology partners to design, develop and industrialise advanced materials specifically engineered for applications where corrosion, pressure, temperature and mechanical stress place conventional solutions at their limits.

This capability is built on decades of metallurgical know-how, materials science, seamless manufacturing expertise and a deep understanding of critical applications across the energy and industrial sectors.

From high-alloy stainless steels and nickel-based alloys to proprietary and tailor-made material solutions, Tubacex combines material development with industrial scalability, enabling new grades to move from concept and qualification to reliable production.

A recent example is SATURN31™, the innovative SuperDuplex grade jointly developed by Tubacex and Saipem for use within Saipem’s patented Snamprogetti™ Urea Technology. Specifically engineered for highly corrosive environments in the high-pressure synthesis loop of urea production plants, SATURN31™ has been assigned the international UNS S83173 designation.

This milestone reflects Tubacex’s ability to participate directly in the design and industrialisation of proprietary materials developed for specific process requirements and demanding operating conditions.

Across sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemicals, nuclear, hydrogen, carbon capture, aerospace and other high-performance industrial applications, our approach remains the same: understand the operating challenge, select or develop the right material, and deliver a solution designed for long-term performance.

For Tubacex, advanced materials are not simply part of the product portfolio. They are a strategic capability that allows us to support customers in improving reliability, extending service life and operating safely in increasingly demanding environments.
